I love porcelain for its papery whiteness, allowing the finished pieces to look like drawings in space.
As with all my work, each one starts with a drawing from life, from a model. Porcelain is a tricky clay to use, and the shapes need to be simple for them to work technically. But it's the simplicity of the forms that, I think, makes them work visually.
