Slab-built glazed earthenware flattened jug based on the female nude, decorated using paper resist and blue and white clay slips. Height 13 inches.
I cut paper for the lines, and like to use scissors for cutting so that the lines are quite crude, not too accurate. The paper "lines" are then pushed onto the pot, and painted over with blue clay slip. This is rubbed, to slightly polish it and harden the surface, and then the paper is removed to reveal white "lines".
I love the silky sensuousness of this glazed surface.
