The Day the Model Fell Over

Oil painting on slab-built earthenware ceramic.
I got the idea for this painting when I was cutting out multiple figure shapes from a slab of clay: if you bunched them up close they looked like someone falling over!
I began painting a few years ago, using the ceramic surface instead of a canvas. So instead of hanging the thing on a wall, it goes on a shelf instead.
